During
the last few years, mealy bug (Homoptera: Pseudococcidae) has
become a major problem in several crops such as cotton, vegetables and
fruits. Several states such as Punjab, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Gujarat
have faced serious infestation of mealy bug in cotton. To manage
this menace, an awareness campaign in Punjab has been initiated by Ministry of
Agriculture in a project mode . The status of mealy bugs in extensively
cotton growing districts of Punjab collected through surveillance teams are
made available here. Also, information on mealy bugs in the form of technical
bulletins (in English and Hindi), folders (English, Hindi and Punjabi) as
well as various campaign materials are provided in PDF form.
