Management
-
Proper
sanitation of the field before transplanting of the rice crop.
-
The
sowing must be adjusted in accordance with the variety and abiotic
factors.
-
Use
of resistant varieties, viz., TKM6, W123, Kataribhog, Daruksail, Karpur
kanti and Kamalabhog.
-
One
spraying of monocrotophos, phosphamidon, cartap hydrochloride, triazophos,
quinalphos, BPMC, ethofenprox, cypermethrin or azinophos ethyl at boot
leaf stage of the crop gives adequate protection against rice leaf folder.
-
Egg
parasitoids like Trichogramma
japonicum are effective against rice leaf folder. Among the important
larval parasitoids of these insects are Cotesia,
Cardiochiles philippinensis. Among pupal parasitoids only Itoplectics narangae
is the most effective.
-
Beauveria bassiana,
Nomuraea
rileyi and Zoopthora radicans
are effective fungi reported to minimize the population of leaf folder
complex.
